Faculty Profile

Guijin Wang received the B.S. and Ph.D. degree (with honors) from the Department of Electronics Engineering, Tsinghua University, China, in 1998 and 2003, respectively, all in signal and information processing.  From 2003 to 2006, he was a researcher with Sony Information Technologies Laboratories.  From Oct. 2006, he has been with the Department of Electronics Engineering, Tsinghua University, China， now as Professor.  Additionally, he serves as a member of the IEEE-MSA-TC, a senior member of IEEE, and a member of IEICE.
His research findings have been published in over a hundred papers in top-tier international journals and conferences, such as Nature Photonics, CVPR, ECCV, IEEE TPAMI, TNNLS, TIP, TCSVT, and RA-L. His work has been cited over 4,000 times on Google Scholar. He was awarded the Best Student Paper Award at IEEE VCIP in 2017, the Best Young Researcher Paper Award from the top industry journal Building and Environment in 2019, and the MSA-TC Best Paper Award in 2023.The relevant research findings won the 2019 National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize, two 2018 Nuremberg International Invention Exhibition Gold Awards, the 2018 China Institute of Electronics Technological Invention First Prize, the 2014 Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Progress First Prize. Led the formulation of two current national standards. Research interests include high-performance 3D imaging, multimodal fusion perception, embodied intelligence, digital image/video processing and analysis, 3D mixed reality, multimedia human-computer interaction, pattern recognition, wearable devices, etc.
