主要贡献:

耦合器是地球系统模式和耦合数值预报模式的基础支撑软件,属于关键核心技术。在我国落后于欧美近20年的背景下,刘利负责自主设计研发了国产耦合器C-Coupler系列,取得了系列自主知识产权和优于欧美耦合器的多项性能,在国际上首次建成融合模式并行框架、软件模块集成框架、数据同化框架和数据输入/输出框架于一体的地球系统数值预报耦合器,已支撑国家气象中心、国家海洋环境预报中心、国家气候中心、中国气象局地球系统数值预报中心、解放军91001部队和93110部队、自然资源部第一海洋研究所、中国科学院大气物理研究所、国防科技大学、中山大学、天津大学、清华大学等单位及多个国家重点研发计划项目的模式发展。C-Coupler被评价为国际领先水平,入选国家“十三五”科技创新成就展,经择优遴选编入《中国基础研究发展报告》。
